Wow, it’s been a while. Getting swarmed by the endless supply of homework, scouts, and eventually finals, the virtual hell for every college student, wasn’t exactly what I had in mind for the past month. Things have been crazy, and have developed into three categories: The Good, The Bad, and The Weird.

Starting with ‘The Good’, Finals are done! I have a month off from school. First semester of college wasn’t as bad as I had been flinching for. I managed a ‘B’ in English, an ‘A’ in Psychology, and it’s looking a lot like I am going to hit that 3.5 GPA that will be desireable when I transfer out of the ugliest community college on the planet. The Psychology class I took this semester was awesome, and I am now looking into careers in counseling psychology. It’s gonna be big.

The Bad, well, I don’t know if you’d classify it as bad, but my room is absolutely awful. With the stress and studying of finals and all that crap, it’s condition has depleted almost beyond normal repair. I can’t see the floor, and I have had to move my computer out of there because of unlivable conditions. So, in turn, it looks like it’s time for another ‘Crush-a-Thon’. One of those turn the room upside down, get rid of all the crap, and then put the room back routines.

Now for the weird. For the past month or so, I had been using a PC laptop for homework and such, because the world somehow fails to realize that Microsoft is a bad omen. As most of you know, I’ve got a pretty good ‘Mac-Zealot’ routine going on. You also know that I wouldn’t be caught dead working on a PC. Well, I have been forced this past month to put up with the ugliness, the slowness, and the crapiness that is Windows XP. As I navigate through the menus, I ask myself: “How many versions of Solitare can you really have on one computer without being tacky?” and “What’s the point of having installers for installers?” and “Why is the command prompt an ‘Accessory’?”. After several weeks, I have learned to hate Microsoft even more. However, at the end of my Windows experience I am left with the uplifting feeling that says, “Damn, I’m good at pinball”.

Windows = Anti-Productivity

Till next time…
